Thank you to all of those people who came along and supported our 2024/2025 season sign-on day (24 August) and our first official day of competition (31 August)! It was truly sensational to see an incredible turnout for our new season and we cannot wait to see what the season has in store for us.
We are getting lots of messages of enquiry that they missed the sign-on day and want to know if you can still sign on. You absolutely can! Use the sign-on link below to join us this season. We also accept FairPlay vouchers. Before you join us, double-check the FairPlay website to see if your athlete qualifies for a voucher. This is an awesome incentive by our Qld Government and we are proud to accept FairPlay vouchers at our club. To further show our support of your athlete, we also offer 2 trial days for free on a Saturday (any Saturday that you can make it!). Please sign in as a trialist at our canteen when you get there, just before 8:15am. Our club members will direct you from here.
Adult Athletes! Stay tuned. Your season starts in early October 2024. We can't wait to welcome you back.
Don't forget to check out our important events tab - we would hate for you to miss anything. We love seeing our athletes at all things fun, family and fitness.
From all of us at Gladstone Athletics Club, thank you so much for your support and we can't wait to see our athletes grow and shine this season.
The date has been locked in and we are keen to see you!
Come and see what it's all about at Gladstone Athletics Club! New and existing members aged from 5 right through to adulthood are welcome to come along.
You don't need to bring anything on the day, just yourself. Registrations are electronic and will be advertised closer to the sign-on day. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for more information.
We are looking forward to seeing you then!
Our 2023/2024 season will officially come to a close on 14/04/2024 at 2pm at our presentations/AGM afternoon.
What a season it was! We were blessed to receive and install our new QGC Shell Discuss cage, we hosted the 2023 Coles Community Day, we hosted our annual 2024 Combined Events Carnival, hosted our 50/50 raffle (winner will be announced on 14/04/2024) and throughout the season, we saw PB after PB and so many records broken! It was a season that we will all remember.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Gladstone Athletics Club community and affiliates for a wonderful season. A small club like ours doesn't run without its dedicated volunteers and the support of our affiliate associations. Of course, everything we do, we do for our athletes. To watch them grow and shine in athletics is just the best!
Until our 2024/2025 season starts, enjoy your well-deserved break and we will see you all in August 2024!
Gladstone Athletics Club have recently been successful in receiving a QGC Shell Community Fund grant, after we made an application to them for a new discus cage. QGC Shell Communities Fund approved our application and we are well on our way to installing a discus cage that meets Athletics Australia standards.
A massive milestone for Gladstone Athletics Club, improving our facilities for the Gladstone community.
A massive thank you to QGC Shell Communities Fund, Amy (former grants officer), Shane (President), Dan (Vice President), Christine (Secretary), Phil (volunteer), Bruce (volunteer), Peter (volunteer) and the Walton boys who have all gone above and beyond to make this happen for Gladstone Athletics Club.
Follow our new discus cage story on our Facebook and Instagram pages
Over the last three days, an amazing crew of people worked to install a fence to the side of our 100m track. This fence means we no longer need to hire fencing for carnivals/competition days and is an investment in improving our facility standard.
A massive shout out and thank you to Monadelphous Gladstone, Shane Gibson, Paul & Kynan Rogers and the other volunteers who made this project possible. We couldn’t have done it without you

Awesome team spirit, team Gladstone! We love it
This one is for the history books for Gladstone Athletics Club! Our tartan tracks for the sandpit (long jump/triple jump) is ready to use! Our athletes were stoked to get on the tartan tracks and show off their skills.
We took a bunch of photos and uploaded them to an album on our Facebook page. Mkae sure you check them out!
This project has been a long time coming. Grants, support of local businesses, countless hours put in by volunteers and a committee who pushed through to bring the project to fruition. Thank you to everyone involved in making this day happen.
Our athletes were excited for today’s jumping events and got into the action.
For a long time now, the committee at Gladstone Athletics Club have been working towards the installation of tartan tracks for our sandpit.....and this is how close we are to realising this amazing dream for the club.
The run ways are in, concrete edges are done, sand is arriving by the truck load and we are just about ready to put the finishing touches on the runways.....tartan!
Without grant funding, the support of local businesses a dedicated committee and volunteer help, this would not have been possible. Thank you to all involved, your contribution, big or small does not go unnoticed and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
Can't wait to see our athletes giving long jump and triple jump a go on our new and improved pit! We have no doubt, they are going to love it!
A milestone day for Gladstone Athletics Club on the 21st of September 2021!
As many of you would be aware, our club has faced some challenges with respect to toilet facilities. The hard work of our committee and support from the Gladstone community has seen this day happen - the day our new toilet block was placed on our toilet block slab!
Shutout to these businesses and people who have helped us get to today, for our toilet block milestone:
- Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC)
- Beta 1 Building Gladstone
- Sheriff Electrical Wholesalers
- John Blows Tilt Tray Service
- GPC Rigging Crew
Watch this space! These toilets will be up and running before we all know it!

At Gladstone Athletics Club, we have a Young Volunteers Pathway Plan. Our club encourages our athletes graduating from the U17 age group to progress to Level 1 (and beyond) coaching Accreditation through Athletics Australia. Furthermore, our club also encourages our 13+ years athletes to become Junior, Level 1 Officials.
As part of Young Volunteers Pathway Plan:
* Our U17 athletes transitioning to Level 1 Coaching bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them to the coaching role. They are able to share their knowledge/experience/skills with junior athletes which we have found, is well received by junior athletes
* There coaching Accreditation is completed through Athletics Australia - a nationally recognised accreditation framework. This accreditation supports their membership in our local club, Little Athletics Qld and Queensland Athletics
* Teaches and encourages our Junior Coaches in the importance and value in contributing to the community
* Our Junior Coaches develop and grow into the role, building self confidence, self esteem, resilience and provides them a sense of accomplishment
* Junior Coaches are encouraged to participate in officiating training, accreditation and support our club in officiating requirements.
* Our Junior Coaches are supported and guided by our club. Our collaboration with our junior coaches is held in high regard and we firmly believe in supporting our Junior coaches into growing further in the sport
* Our Junior Coaches are there for us at training sessions and Saturday morning competition. Invitation is also extended to them to attend away competition such as carnivals, regional and state competition.
We are looking forward to watching our junior coaches grow and keen to welcome more junior coaches to our club, through our Young Volunteer Pathway Plan
